ESD consulting for a 14-storey, 190-room student accommodation building in Carlton, now under construction.
The project places 190 self-contained student rooms on a 705 sqm city-fringe site. Comfort, daylight and energy performance have to be balanced in every room of a slender 14-storey building.
Makao is providing ESD consulting to Manors Gate Group alongside Plus Studio and Henny. The architect's design uses articulated balconies and shading devices to manage light and comfort, and vertical greening at street level.
Work is ongoing. Completion is expected in July 2027.
